Should You Remodel Before Selling Your Home?

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that every home needs a major remodel before it goes on the market. In reality, the best return on investment often comes from making the right improvements – not the most expensive ones.

Before recommending any updates, I evaluate each home’s condition, price point, competition, and target buyer. In many cases, strategic improvements such as fresh paint, minor repairs, updated lighting, landscaping, and thoughtful staging deliver a greater return than a full renovation.

My goal is to help sellers invest wisely, avoid unnecessary expenses, and focus on the improvements that are most likely to maximize their home’s value and net proceeds. Every home is different, and every recommendation should be tailored to that home’s unique opportunities.
